It's 2007 and still no flying cars. But lawn-mowing robots:
If money is no object, take your pick. The latest, in
race-car shapes, are programmed to snip grass while
roaming the yard like man's best friend, inside the
boundaries of an electronic fence. Just cough up
between $1,500 and $13,000, and one of these R2D2s
works for you. Of course, the size equals coverage.
Trump at his weekend manse, for instance, might prefer
the BigMow, with five blades in a 48-inch-wide body that
hover-manicures five acres. Ironically, at $13,000, its
price is just a grand cheaper than hiring a service to
handle the same size lawn for one growth season in
some cities. Viewed that way, the Lawnbott Evolution,
which mows three-quarters of a football field, and the
RoboMower, which cuts half an acre, each for a fraction
of the price, are both steals.
